FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT
The Salvus Center has celebrated our ninth anniversary of operation here in Sumner County. We started out with a small staff in borrowed space in Gallatin. Within four years we expanded our medical services to offices in Hendersonville. And, in 2010 we were able to payoff the loan on our Gallatin clinic.
Through all of this we have been blessed to have a dedicated and wise board of directors to help guide us along the way. Dr. Hill our Medical Director and Shelley Ames our Executive Director have been with us the entire time. This continuity of leadership has enabled the Salvus Center to effectively respond to the needs of our patients, as the overall medical environment has continued to evolve.
One example of this leadership is the consolidation of our two clinics back into one operation located in our Gallatin facility. This was a difficult but necessary decision based on our responsibility to our donors to be good stewards of the gifts they have provided. The Hendersonville clinic was under utilized, yet we were compelled to have a full staff present should we have a full patient load. In the end it was not an efficient use of our resources to keep it open.
Thankfully, God has provided us with the ability to provide excellent medical care for our patients throughout the county, not only because of our outstanding staff, but because of the tremendous support of both hospitals and virtually all of the specialty physicians throughout Sumner County and even Nashville. The Salvus Center is continuing to improve, and new patient visits have increased in spite of the availability of federally supported healthcare through the Affordable Care Act.
