Dr. Ted Hill, a longtime Sumner County internist and minister-in-training, is Salvus Center’s Medical Director and staff physician. Hill has spent more than 25 years in private practice before seeking a way to merge his passions for medicine and outreach. He soon discovered an ecumenical group of influential citizens who shared his desire to address Sumner County’s growing healthcare crisis, and Salvus Center was born. Together with Hill, this strong and dedicated board of directors has crafted a vision for guiding the working uninsured to wholeness, wellness, and healing.
Dr. Hill is a driving force in the development of the clinical standards of Salvus Center and the day-to-day delivery of care. Ms. Shelley Ames serves as the Executive Director of Salvus Center. Having served in various capacities with Hendersonville Medical Center, Shelley brings a wealth of experience in the integration of services within the Sumner County healthcare delivery system. She serves as a strong community leader. With a support system of employed medical professionals and volunteers, Salvus Center will provide a health delivery system to patients. Staff will integrate with local community and faith organizations to fulfill the ‘whole’ health concept expressed in the organization’s Mission Statement.
“We want to encourage good stewardship of body and soul,” explains Hill. The Center will provide sick and preventive care referrals to medical specialists, disease management, health and wellness education, and support and referrals for patients with spiritual and emotional needs. Every patient will pay for care, but fees will be adjusted on a sliding scale according to income.
