About Salvus

Inspired by the Biblical mandate to care for the sick and the needy, a diverse group of Sumner County’s leading citizens came together in fall 2004 to found Salvus Center, a faith-based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing healthcare for the working uninsured in Sumner County.

Salvus Center, Inc.  will operate as a health care clinic for residents of the county who work but do not have health insurance.  Patients will be seen, treated and will be asked to pay according to a sliding scale.

Salvus Center volunteers will provide scheduled translation services assistance to communicate with the non-English speaking population.

The clinic will offer specific hours dedicated to seeing working patients and pediatric patients in need of care.

Salvus Center is closely aligned with and receiving support from the local hospitals in Sumner County. It is utilizing a time proven operational model of service that has been successfully implemented in other cities.  In addition, Salvus Center will coordinate relationships with local agencies for the delivery of other ancillary services, medications and counseling.

Salvus Center will fulfill its vision by operating through a model of treatment of the whole person.

Board member Steve Brown, who is Executive Director of the Hendersonville Samaritan Center, has made a 17-year career of serving those in need. He sees Salvus Center s treatment of the whole person approach as key.  If people have good spiritual and emotional health, their physical health will get better, too, he says.
